Warning! Exiting Supercruise can be fatal...

I must have exited supercruise thousands of times. Normally, while the game is doing its special 'hang on a minute' thing I push the throttle to max in anticipation of appearing 8 -10km from the station. Good job I didnt on this occasion as I appeared directly behind the rear of an Orbis station. I still hit the station before I had time to react, and I didnt spill too much of my tea. Shield damage only, thankfully.

Anyway, from now I will throttle back as I exit supercruise, just in case...

had it happen myself although it was a cheese grator run at AULIN! I think we come out far too close to the stations :/

Yeah, i really like on how close we exit will be closer to the station, and not that fixed distance we see on some games after warping.

I've started putting 4 pips to shields before I jump

Had to extricate myself a couple of times from the fins and the rotating bits... I think they are more than 8km long

Yes I think FD should slightly extend the distance we appear.
