Warning - FPS killed!!!! Avoid 2.3 for a bit!

Hi - I have i7-4770K with 16GB RAM EVO SSD & 2x GTX770 in SLI mode

This 2.3 update results in unplayable game on my system even dropping all settings to MED - run @ 2560x1680 - yes not current card release - but lost 100+ fps - landing in TUN's WART 5-7fps - planet flying - 18-20 fps - hanger bay - 25fps - I do not know what they have done since I played beta 2.3.2 (1st & 2nd versions) but I cannot play this now - I have adjusted everything and it is terrible

2.2 Fine 75-100fps minimum

Did not change drivers for GTX

Loaded 2.3

GUI fps - not playable not seen anything greater than 105fps except spinning ship (165fps) used to be 250-300 min - I also have map error a good 2-3 inch offset for info - useless for sector selection - did not see in early beta or 2.2

Not good upgrade - I would love to return to 2,2!!!!!!!!!!

I have raised bug report

Runs fine on my 980Ti, I wonder if they've introduced some SLI issues. Hopefully support can help.

Though hang on... Are you saying that 105fps is unplayable?!

I've just seen someone with very recent specced pc having fps issues somewhere a second ago somewhere around. Hard to guess what the cause of the issue is, but hopefuly it can be identified and a simple fix will come fast. I've yet to log in myself to try.

Uh...

No offence man, but why are you running the game at 2560x1680? You playing it on a large TV? SLI can be dodgy, I've never invested in it (I've only ever heard of problems when using 2x cards).

Might be time to upgrade to a single GTX1080 or 970 if those are around the bargain bin - I use a single 970 and it does everything in Ultra (even with my cruddy, old, AMD 965 quad core chip).

You might have to update your drivers... that's normally the first thing you should do ^^

Yeah. SLI is probably a contributing factor. It's always buggy and temperamental.
I'm on a i7-477K @ 4.5GHz with a GTX 970 and I lock in at 60fps at 1920x1080 with everything set to ultra.
In VR though I have to turn everything down to low. A 1070 or 1080 upgrade is planned soon.

Seen a few people reporting issues with SLI setups, I have a single GTX980Ti and it seems OK.. mostly.. I'm still getting some stuttering at stations, although I would say it's 99% better than the god awful stuttering I and some others have put up with all through 2.2. I am disappointed to find that planetary landscapes are stuttering though, just done a planetary landing far away from the bubble and any turn other than a very gentle bank turn results in the landscape jerking past the window.

OMG, if that fps gets anywhere under 90 then ASW will turn it into 45 even if you disable the added fake frames it adds.

Sorry to hear of your problems. Be sure to raise a bug report. Ironically, though, my 3 year old laptop has seen a massive boost in performance since 2.3 dropped. I'm chuffed! Anyway, hope you get it sorted. I'm sure, with a tweak or two, you will be flying again soon.

Borrowed GTX 1060 6gb - Rock solid. 2.3 is a little smoother. transitions are faster, no micro stutters when entering station and landing approach, and looks fine at dsr 1440p/vsync/75fps )everything max except ss 1.0 and ambient occlusion medium & SMAA on. Waiting for a new case so I can give my son his GTX 1060 back and fit a new ASUS Strix RX 480 8GB (it's very long!) , which he reports as comparable performance to the Nvidia card. I had bad 2.2 stutter on super cruise exit using a Sapphire RX 480 4GB (fixed with the 1060). I hope those having problems get it sorted.

OP and others with FPS problems - go to the Options / Graphics menu and select the graphics pre-set you normally use (Ultra/High/Mid etc) and "Apply" the setting.

A sudden loss of FPS after a major update or even driver changed has happened before and the procedure above has helped those people having problems.

Hope it works for you.

I had problems during the beta for a bit, then it seemed to clear up during one of the newer builds, then it went crappy again.

Also using two cards (though AMD not Nvidia)
