Warning Pop-Up When About to Vent Minerals That Have Passed the Hopper

Too many times have I accidentally vented 80%+ of minerals (with no way of retrieving them back) when I thought I didn't press the spacebar hard enough to vent the materials that I didn't want only to vent those materials AND THEN vent the materials I wanted to keep! I don't know if this if it is just me but it seems like the default location for when looking at the cargo screen is right on the vent button for materials that have passed the hopper, thus I need to make damn sure where that glowing icon is before pressing the spacebar.

So three changes to make mining less rage induced

1. Warning pop-up before venting metals or minerals that have passed the hopper
2. Move the default home position off of the vent button.
3. Develop a way to retrieve accidentally vented materials.

Thank you.

Best bet is to just make sure actions like this that are undoable you have to go out of your way to do them. Recovering the materials is unlikely, as the only way to make it recoverable is to make it a new chunk, and this would clutter the play area and processing, plus it's probably supposed to be ground up or destroyed anyway.

Popups could get annoying every time if you know what you're doing as well. I think just a redesign should help most cases...you can't save everyone from themselves.

It's not a document, so undo history wouldn't work. But what if you had another component to the system, a trash bin of sorts that could take a number of cycles, and that you had to dump once it got full. But you could reprocess it as well. Sort of a recycle bin for the hopper.

Then learn to pay attention. Too many times? Why aren't you learning? Slow down. Be conscious of your actions.

Higher class refineries have this.
