Geee, wonder why I always do CG in Solo. Though I have been venturing into Open more lately, still get my bias confirmed more often than not that it's a horible place. For my latest interdiction I just sat in open space and put all power to SYS in my Mil. Grade armor A5 shielded and 4x A0 booster Asp explorer with no gun's was shot out from under me by a FAS bobing and weaving like I was actually a threat(I was bored and wanted to see how long it would take him)!!! I wrote "you must think you're so skilled killing a stationary trade ship without even asking for cargo" to which I got a retort of "F U NOOB!"

Have to disagree entirely, solo is just as valid a choice as open.

so i should just be killed or spend a few hours dodging about.

i spent sat/sun night in open saw 2/3 cmdrs in about 6 hrs or so of game time, non of which attacked me so playing solo is surely similar in effect.

One BGS but the possibility of many instances. Even if solo didn't exist you would have CMDRS influencing the BGS as if they were in solo.

Disagree,

PvE players have just as much right to play the game how they wish as the PvP players.

Me personally only play in open, also in CG's.

Last week i had a funny encounter with a random CMDR FDL near Jaques station in Super Cruise.. We both jumped in and out SC, i was terrified he was hunting my shieldless trade conda.. Jumped out the system a few times when he lined up behind me, and he jumped out when i was turning to keep him in front of me.

This went on for a few minutes till i finally was able to jump out on Jaques station. The FDL jumped out as well and i asked him if he was hunting me.. His reaction: "LOL! I thought you were hunting me!"

So we both jumped in and out, turned circles around eachother for nothing.. lol

But agree it's not for everones taste.
What would be wrong with open and solo having there own back ground simulation? Same could be for pc and and Xbox until we can see each other.
Not to sure if it was you , but a little while ago some players were trying to flip ltt 9257(not 100% sure on numbers) back over to a faction that sold slaves cheaply such was a pretty cool thing to do. It would of been impossible to enforce as traders were just going into solo and un doing all the prep work that players had done. I know this has been covered before and prob should of just bit my lip .

Be careful what you wish for:

1 / There are probably a huge number of solo players which also contribute to the overall simulation.

2 / It actually somewhat helps solo players to go into open play if they wish to do so in the sense that there as there is no "everything will be different" barrier, they'll just meet other commanders.

3 / Due to the instanced nature of the game, you don't see most players anyway. Yup, dudes and dudettes you can only PK those who are assigned to you by the server. Many other players are passing through your blockade and there's nothing you can do about it!

This CG is especially dangerous because it's in the home system of a somewhat PVP oriented group (The Diamond Frogs) and that group has enemies... I'm one such enemy myself and although I (and the rest of the group I'm part of) have been very careful not to kill traders some of the Frogs other enemies are probably just killing everyone. Just be aware that you are walking into a war zone...
