My PC recently took a dump (actually just windows. linux is still working like a champ) so I've had the sads from not being able to play elite. The next week they offered this addiction on XBOX game pass.
It's been a long time since I've been a novice and I must say the NPE is pretty good.
What I found most of interest however was the warning to new pilots about nefarious commanders enslaving brand new federation pilots to mine for them deep in the black. I was already aware of this new ploy from other sources but I must say this is most simple and impressive way to address the issue. And very in spirit of elite. Rather than an over handed approach and dumping on someone else's 'fun' educate new pilots of certain dangers. As in life most dangers can be avoided with knowledge. And as anyone who grew up in the 80's is well aware, knowing is half the battle. (also as a programmer i'm thoroughly impressed you guys didn't force yourself into programming a solution).
