Warning to Sag A* visitors

First off, please don't anyone turn this into a P2P discussion, there are plenty of those. Its just a warning. Also understand its a kind of touchy subject which not sure if i'll be crossing the line of forums rules.

Anyway, I keep an eye on the cheat forums because i like to know what shennanigans they are getting up to.

Its known there is an infinite jump range hack, apparently one of the cheaters says they use it sometimes to pop to Sag A* to see if there are any explorers out there. Presumably to kill.

Recommend going to Sag A* only either in solo, or if in open, keeping a sharp eye out for other contacts. If you see, do not assume they are friendly (although everyone should know by now after that one guy who went there on a killing spree).

Is it worth sending a link to FDev? Surely they can spot anyone that jumps 25,000LY in a jump to ban them.

I'm sure someone on the dev team is keeping an eye or two on the cheat forums.... they would have to be mad not to at least be aware of what is available, even if they can't fix it at this time.

About 3 months ago someone posted a warning on the main forum about the unlimited jump range hack, a few of us immediately sent tickets in with a link to the post. A dev got back in touch with me within an hour and said they were aware of it and could trace whose using it. We assumed they'd fixed it.

So its sad to see that its still there in game. Lets hope FD are still monitoring those who are using it and eventually delete their "achievements" and ban their accounts.

Or maybe they fixed it and the cheaters found a new way of making it happen.

All to frequently getting into coding wars with hackers is like erm... damn form rules, can't use my favourite phrase.... throwing water into the wind (hope you get the phrase i wanted to use).

Hence its best to keep those reports coming and let FD deal with them. There can't be too many cheaters out there, and the ones that do can't have unlimited cash to keep buying new copies of the game.
