Griefer and his dumbfires
I was running a luxuries trade route and was constantly interdicted by griefers, whom upon interdicting, did a silent run, followed by dumbfires.
I'm in an Anaconda, shielded, I lost my shields once during the interdiction but was able to avoid the dumbfire shots for the most part and never took damage.
One of those players I guess got frustrated and attempted to take me out while docking in station, camping inside the port with his dumbfires, he ALMOST killed me as I was docking.
How can I possibly counter dumbfires? How can I counter a griefer camping in station specifically?
He lost his cobra, which probably cost about 100k or something, but I had to spend millions in repair.

Disable PDT before docking until FD fixes the station-aggro bug. Beyond that: FD announced they will seriously nerf dumbfires soon. They will still do massive hull damage but will be near-useless versus shields. So these 'griefers' (never mind that discussion!) have to take down your shield first before they can suckerpunch you, and it is up to you to prevent that from happening.

Its not griefing. He is a pirate with legitimate game play.

According to some, yes. (not me or the majority though, we know that griefing is a problem in ED)
Yes it is griefing. It exploiting the landing pad hover DF attack. You sit above the landing pad with permission to lad (you have 10 mins) as soon as someone comes in to lad you target them and fire the missiles. Then you land. You will probably have a fine but because you are landed you can pay it off and are free to leave. The other pilot will either die to the missiles or die to the station defences due to point defence missing the missiles and plinking the station.
No, that is the very definition of griefing. I have posted dozens of times in support of legitimate play and I do know the differerence between 'playing the game' and being an idiot.
What exactly is he pirating? What loot / cargo is he getting? Since theft / looting is the core principal of pirating.
Otherwise it's griefing as the OP stated.

I only reported the one I actually saw in the station, his 2 mates outside I didn't report.
I don't really care what it is called just looking for a way too counter it.as it is now I could buy an adder load it up with dumb fires and take out any ship attempting to land In a station before a station can even take me out.
Its a strawman. Practically noone is saying this is pirating, including pirates, or even legitimite gameplay. Hardly anyone considers random murder to be piracy, either. The debate is mostly about whether or not random murder without using exploits is legit gameplay or not. In my opinion people have the right to act like jerks, others think it should not be allowed. By pretending 'many' people are considering station exploiting to be ok okay a complex discussion is turned into nonsense. Ignore it.
