warthog bindings

ok im having alot of cross bindings,, or things just not working, when the warthog is connected

when im in flight for example,, i select next hostile on the stick hat,, it dose select the hostile but also drops my weapon pips down to 1,,

this is only 1 example,,
also just found out that with the stick connected , VA dose not work correctly

example just added landing gear down to VA ,, say the cmd and it will only go so far before stopping the sequence..

disconnect the stick only so far , the VA cmd works as should,,
i don't have target running, not even installed as mentioned by another user not to use it..

stick my x52pro back inline everything is working ..
now i have checked , re-checked , till my head bleeds thex bindings in ED warthog profile , and there is no cross over,, i have even set my own config, m8akeing sure things are set to each controller , seperateing functions , like in flight actions on the stick,, and power etc on the throttle,,,

i have checked so much i really starting to think its ED , multi controller issue ..
but before i ticket it,, i would , a conformation from other warthog user , that also use VA as well,,,,,,

thanks commanders

Premium Beta, or Alpha 1. Only really supports one device.

The warthog is two devices (throttle and stick). If you assign button 1 on the joystick to do something, then button 1 on the throttle will do the same action. this is why you are seeing this behaviour.

Either wait out until the Beta gets released, or use the TARGET software to map the throttle and stick to key presses.

i thought dual controllers was now in place as of alpha 3 ,, but i could of mis read that ,,,,

but if what you say is correct then ,, at least i know now i have to wait a tad longer for the support

I have a ticket open for this which is under investigation. Using a custom profile, in previous Alpha's you bind button 1 on the stick to a function, and then when you bind button 1 on the throttle, the earlier binding was removed. Later Alpha's were supposed to fix this but what I found was that both bindings remain in place. They are still not independant. I have not tried the builti-in profile for the Warthog though but if I make any changes to that layout, and I'm sure I would want to, then it would switch back to Custom and I would be back to square one again. But as I say, I haven't tried this so I don't know for certain.

Sorry Noctivagus, I didn't look at your signature and assumed you were a new Beta player.

At least I now know I'm the only one , I'll recheck what you have mentioned, and create a ticket as well now, thanks

Lolol no problem , I posted in here as I think my post was initially a general Q?
Now it's been confirmed , it's now a alpha issue,,, plus also posting in here means non alpha access, users can see the issue,

This is correct, the single player combat demo that Premium Beta access allows is the Alpha 1 build which does not support multi joysticks.

Thanks,
Mark :)

I have not tried the builti-in profile for the Warthog though but if I make any changes to that layout, and I'm sure I would want to, then it would switch back to Custom and I would be back to square one again. But as I say, I haven't tried this so I don't know for certain.

Any change you make to the built-in profile for the Warthog will cause a Custom profile to be created but all the other keys will still be as they were in the Warthog profile, so you won't be "back to square one". I have successfully used the Warthog profile, only changing Yaw to my rudder pedals, resulting in the Custom profile being created. I have since further customised the Warthog profile by adding in many of the known keyboard commands which are currently missing from this profile. The drawback at the moment is the Custom profile can't be saved but providing no other profile is selected it will have the same settings when you log back in as it had when you left it. :)

I also customized the built-in Warthog profile using the latest alpha. I kept most of it the same but did have to invert a few axes and change a few things to be more to my liking. For example, I bound the mouse hat button on the throttle as an alternative for primary weapons fire to give my right index finger a rest from that heavy trigger on the stick. Now, if I could just mind control that one action... :)

This is my first time using the Warthog and TrackIR for a space sim (normally I fly DCS) and wow it's a blast!

By the way, I don't use TARGET either - just the in-game bindings which I've found quite satisfactory, especially for an alpha.
