Was I bugged?

So I had this mission, the same old stuff take X to Y get lots of credits.

So it's at a medium pad station and it won't all fit in my hold, so I take half fly over to Y. The mission icon appears in the mission tab in station but the mission is nowhere to be found. what I think, maybe I need all of it, so I dump my shield for a cargo rack and load the whole lot into my faithful little ship. Get to station Y again, and still no mission appears.

Yes it was the right station in the right system, checked it a dozen times.
Yes it was the right cargo.

So with no way of handing in the mission the only choice I had was to abandon it and pay the 1.3m penalty. So instead of being 6m up I'm 1.3 down.

Assuming I'm not being dumb, is there any workaround, or are we stuffed?

Probably the faction you were delivering to has retreated from the target system - so no-one around to hand in to. In which case you have to abandon.

All else being equal, sounds to me like the faction that you were delivering the cargo to have retreated from the system...

Look in your transactions tab (left HUD) and it will tell you which faction you were delivering to. If they are there, click on them and the mission will be there, if they are not there (there being the mission board), then they have gone.

(You don't need to deliver all the cargo in one go now, just so you know, you could do it one ton at a time.)

Unfortunately, if that is the case, there's nothing you can do but abandon the mission.

its a bug that seems to happen during thurs morning server maintenance so can be avoided see thread above for avoidance workround
