Was I stuffed by a Bug?

Hello everyone, need to pick your brains for a moment.
I'm very much a returning player and although I do have Odyssey, I'm playing Horizons currently. (trying to regain muscle/finger memory on my New Virpil Setup before launching into Odyssey)
Anyways, I kitted out my ASP Explorer for Mining (I've never been much of a miner either) and proceeded to a system where metals I'm looking for were abundant.

I selected the ring and waited until I'd been scanned by NPCs and ignored.

I proceeded to mine.

About 20 mins in, I got a message to dump my cargo from an NPC.

Nah..just do a runner I thought...problem was I was taking fire but nothing on my radar showed an enemy.
Did all the evading, chaff everything I had, but to no avail.....exploded and all my minerals gone after rebuy.

Then I hear of a BUG that doesn't show enemies (red) on radar, is this correct as it would explain everything?

Big "maybe" here...

Perhaps you did exceed your power budget with all mining equipment and sensors got "disabled" by lack of power?

This is just a wild guess, though.

Thanks everyone...was in Solo, safer to Mine in - or so I thought...was attacked but NO RED SHIP showing on radar. The only option I had was to skedaddle as best I could away from where the source of firing seemed to be...got blown to bits just as I reached supercruise speed. Was in a High Security System into the bargain...ah well, back to the grind.

Sounds like the RNG powers that be had a bad day and landed on you. Sorry :( had that happen many a time. Its annoying to get chased off of a prime mining spot by a Sidewinder (that happened to me in a t9)

You didn't need the bit in brackets. The first statement already gave us that idea.

It's unusual for an NPC to visit you after the beginning, but it does happen in some circumstances, like when two or more NPCs come - one scans you and another decides to chase and fight the scanning NPC, which is now running away. Sometimes you can see the fight in the distance, which goes on for a long time (10 to 20 mins), but with D-rated sensors, you might be unaware of it. When the 2nd NPC wins the fight, it will then come over to you and scan you.

You didn't show your build, but an NPC in a Cobra should be able to chase you down.

Why you didn't see it is a bit of a mystery, but weak sensors might have something to do with it, especially if your shield were knocked down early and the NPC was firing missiles at you from range.

Ram it. I've rammed a few pirates when I wanted rid of them and they were weak. It's a very satisfying way to dispose of them.

Are you sure it was solo? I've seen (actually not seen) a couple of stealth DBXs in open that can get very close and shoot you completely unseen. That would also explain why it came later.

Yup definitely Solo, was a bit miffed as I said on no Red Ship Icon showing in the RAdar.
