Was the Quivira war a datamining experiment? What can we learn from it?

There are 2 kinds of people. It seems the roleplayers are the minority. I took my clipper to Godel Dock, bought an Adder (could have been a sidey as well of course), signed my contract at the outpost, returned to my clipper and headed to the warzone. What´s the problem with that?
I really really hope powerplay puts an end to peoples reputations who act as traitors. I see the whining yet. Maybe even you lose your rank. That would be just realistic.

Automatically losing rep at a high level, as opposed to at the level you're actually fighting at (so with Patreus and QE plc, in this case) would reduce the scope for nuanced RP and indeed for (minor) inter-factional conflict.

I didn't realize it was treason against the Empire to oppose the operations of an Empire-based corporation. I thought the Empire was just that, not a corporatarchy.

By the way, I just earned 2 millions (tier 2 top 40%) bonus even thought the Empire didn't reach the overall goal.
