Was there ever a chrome(d) paint job for the chieftain?

Chrome is smooth and shiney.
ChromeD is more like brushed metal.

Neither are available for the Orca yet, so my money is staying with me.

As a comparison - I'd agree. But "Chrome" is far, far from the reflective chroming effect it could be. No doubt that is FDev milking us slowly until they sell the "Mirrored Chrome" finish in 2019... [followed by Mirrored Gold, Glossy Black etc]

I suppose, to be fair, the mirrored effect might actually look very poor in space, with mainly direct light, it will appear very black with occasional really bright spots. You need the diffuse lighting effect an atomospheric planet produces to get the best out of a truly mirrored effect...

I've got chrome for my Cutter, and it really is that reflective. When flying over a planet and looking at the ship in external camera, it looks black from above because it's reflecting space above it, and brown from below because of the planet surface.

Didn't Amadala get around in what was basically a mirrored chrome Cutter?

Yep. And in deep space, it didn't really look like much.
