Beta servers are a whole new copy of the galaxy with nothing tagged yet. (?)
Seems like they should copy over the "first discovered by" database along with the player database but there's probably a reason they don't

For whatever reason, they don't copy over the first discovered by db. The db does seem to carry over from one beta to the next, but it only has first discoveries from CMDRs who sold the data during a beta.

It looks like the FD beta database is it's own perpetual thing - it's not been wiped since last beta at least (and I still have my name on EOL PROU VY-R D4-443 6, haha \o/).
I assume they didn't copy the FD database originally because it's a) huge and a lot of extra effort and b) allows tagging to happen easier in the bubble (where a lot of people will be testing), on the off chance something is wrong
