Don't bother with supersampling!
HMD Pixel density is where it is at. People turn down SS so that they can turn HMD PD up!
For Dirt Rally, what did you have the VR setting set to? I love that game in VR. I have the VR camera setting (I cant remember what it is called) set to off, this really softens the experience.
Duh.. that's what I meant

HMD will undoubtedly help with the visuals. As for settings, I'm not sure what settings you mean. I was getting 90fps no bother with some of the graphical settings turned down, so framerate-related sickness wasn't the issue. I think it really was the absolute intensity of it. Careering off a cliff finally done it for me, I had to rip the headset off and go lie down.
I suspect if I just ease myself back into it, play some iracing and corsa, and of course Elite, and just limit myself to how long I spend in a game for a while, I will get my VR legs. I really want to play dirt rally as it was ridiculously good, but I'll just be more careful this time

I drove a 1974 Toyota Celica GT for 10 years. When I first tried Dirt Rally in 2D, I felt it's physics were poor compared to the venerable Richard Burns Rally. Then they added VR and I gave it another try. I was stunned at how close the 70's cars were to my RL Toyota in handling. It all came down to now being able to see the undulations in the road. This is now my favorite VR racing title. The graphics are also much clearer than other race titles at the same pd, so a lower pd can be used without much difference. I run at 1.5 on a 980 but even 1.0 looks better than other racers at 1.5 imo. Much of your dizziness may be due to the bouncy, flying through the air driving experience in DR. Smaller doses while building up your VR legs for this game/sim should help. Not to mention that this style of racing can be a lot of work and quite tiring. For me this is a must have title in VR for any racing fan even if your not into Rally.
As mentioned above, you're very likely right, it's a very intense experience. I'll just take it easier this time!
If you buy Touch from Oculus you get Robo Recall free, which is a great example of what made for VR graphics can look like when natively employed (sweet). Worth mentioning that if you like shooters, the Doom BFG Fully Possessed mod it a brilliant mod supporting Touch and voice commands. It is well worth picking up BFG (often on sale at Steam)

Being a sim player, I never used the Xbox controller and didn't buy Touch initially. When they halved the price, I decided to give it a go. I wasn't sorry at all. These are a great piece of tech and I use them way more than I would have imagined. [/quote
I will have literally no use for the xbox controller, as I have both wheel and HOTAS, and I use a PS4 controller if necessary. Touch sounds like it'll be fun for the things I've yet to try.
