Horizons Wasted my entire night trying to find a Planetary Vehicle Hanger. I give up.

I have been waiting patiently for this update. it finally launches. Unfortunately, I have spent hours looking for a Planetary Vehicle Hanger for my Vulture. I have tried Dalton Gateway, which many people said would have them for sure, but they didn't, I tried various high tech systems, as well as other types. This item does not appear to be in the game at all. I'm done, I'm going to sleep, I'm not wasting another second on this game, until someone can give me a 100 percent guaranteed location for these things, or the devs address this issue.

Wasted my entire night with this crap.

They are for sale pretty much everywhere. Silly question, but you did download Horizons, not 1.5?

Azrael, Extra Refinery has both G and H. Only tested G2/H2 though, not sure about larger ones. And it also stocks Asp Scouts.

My ships had them on when I logged in. That's weird.

Edit: oops. I misread it as planetary approach suite. I'm sleepy. :(

I got mine on Solo Orbiter in Altair.

OK, It says Elite:Dangerous 1.5 in the bottom left corner. I have pre-ordered Horizons, and the launcher updated today. What do I need to do to download Horizons, I figured it would automatically update, like every other game.

OK, I Figured it out. Thank you TomP for the very helpful reply.

That is set up in a very confusing way, that I think should have been communicated better. I was assuming the game would automatically update to include the Horizons update, and for those who didn't buy Horizons it would just lock out of those features, like most games do.

Now for another question.

Do I uninstall Elite: Dangerous? I am assuming it's not needed anymore.

Well there's the problem. I closed my launcher and when I reopened it, it prompted me to update. It will turn blue after it installs. This was not via Steam, btw.

So is your launcher blue?

And on another note, are you running it through steam? Not sure if the steam keys for horizons have been sent out yet or not. If you own the steam version, you might need to get the dedicated client from Frontier for the time being. But as said, not sure if it has been rolled out while I was asleep :p

It is all rather confusing though. The outfitting shop could have been a little clearer in their wording though. I found it confusing when I went to the outfitting and was told that the landing module thingie I was fitting needed another bit. I thought I needed that bit first before I fitted the thingie.

I turned out all I needed to do was go back to outfitting, to the thingie module, and buy the other bit from there.

Lol. Yes, it has a sub thingy for the module thingy. After you purchase the SRV though, you can go to the restock screen of it is ever destroyed to get a new one (dont have to go back to outfitting). :)

After TomP clued me in, I was able to figure out how to install Horizons. I installed it through Steam. If you go to your account page, and click on Partner Keys, you can get the site to create a Steam code for Horizons. I installed that, logged in, and finally bought my vehicle hanger, and can see landfall planets and settlements and such.

Thanks everyone for the help. It sure was a frustrating night, and I think this could have all been communicated a little better, or set up easier, but it's done.

Hey BillytheCrayon,
sergeantmarcel is right. I had the same issue and the thing is that you must use a class 2 internal to have the possibility to buy the module (which can hold the SRV in your ship).
I thing most of big stations can sell SRVs. I travelled though many different systems and stations (and I was getting really angry) but i was trying to buy the stuff on a class 1 internal so of course I didn't find it in the damn list.

I guess it would have been better if Frontier had explaned it to us (but I'm a little dumb too so...:D).

To be correct only. The hangars ar available for class 2, 4 and 6 I've seen them having a housing for 1, 2 or 4 vehicles.
So fitting a vehicle requires minimum class 2 or above slot to be free or freed. In general you can also decide betwenn quality class H or G
(but don't know the difference).
