Whoops, I logged on yesterday and signed up to collect some stuff from another system and agreed to do a combat mission.
Didn't really pay attention to the fines for non completion, crashed during hyperspace and decided to call it a night.
Logged on today and I've gone from 3000 credits to 30.

I'm low on fuel and a bit stuck, but I've got a plan to visit the eranin 3 combat zone and see if I can't rescue my saved game! I really don't want to wipe my save.
