Watch your fuel !!!

LOL.. I am sure that those of you that have made the trip to Sag A will say " well DUH !!" lol.. But I almost had a huge Oops moment. There are a ton of unscoopable systems the closer you get to Sag A. I was not paying a huge load of attention to my fuel level as I only had 6 more jumps to my current stopping point. Happened to look and went OH CRAP!!! luckly found a scoopable star 8 LY away. lol.. that would have been a huge OOPPSSSS...

The unscoopable stars are actually in a disk that permeates the entire galaxy between roughly -40 and -80 altitude. They only seem to "on the way" to Sag A* if you plot a shallow course from slightly above and far away. However if you plot a course directly above or below Sag A, and then head straight up or down once you at the right distance, then you'll hit maybe 1 unscoopable star at most on the final leg of the journey. In fact, once you get that close, it's probably best to jump in single max range plot to avoid the computer getting stuck for 5-10 min plotting.

This.

Try going to Map View > Color by Star Class > uncheck OBAFGKM. That is, UNcheck all the scoopables.

Now pan through the galmap around that Z-index. It's incredibly striking.

I concur. I am well on the way to the core, at 350 above the galactic plane, have not come across a single unscoopable. When I went to SagA I single jumped once computation took longer than 60s, also that way you can chose the optimum systems anyway, such as A,F, and G's.
