Watchdog - Unhandled error starting application: 5

Yet again, an update to Elite has prompted the message "Watchdog - Unhandled error starting application: 5" when trying (and failing) to launch the game - I'll go and report it on the issue tracker but this is not the first time that an update has caused this error which is very disappointing. It also always seems to happen on the rare Friday nights when my wife is watching a romcom and I get the chance to invest some time in the game!

Are others suffering with this?

Nope - never seen any such error

Usually a driver conflict or corrupted system file, had it a few times, but not with Elite, but with other games, google as there are a few quick fixes to try

Thanks for the replies. This is an issue that arose with an earlier EDO update in June and was fixed by Frontier then so I am loath to start uninstalling and reinstalling etc.

I thought they cancelled watchdog a while ago, was a decent show though
