There has been numerous threads about having extermal views, this is not one of them.
Last night I dropped out of SC at a USS and just sat there, kept my guns in their housings and was left alone.
I watched 2 NPCs dogfighting, it was really a useful experience. It's one thing when you are pulling back on the stick to get the enemy back in the crosshairs but I never really understood how much space you were flying through to achieve that.
I'm not even sure an external view would show it as well as watching 2 other pilots from a distance.
Of course the one thing I could not be sure of was if either dropped in and out of FA to pull tighter turns.
If you get the oppertunity to do so yourself, I recommend surrendering 5 mins of your gameplaying time for the visual feast that the 2 craft spin through in their efforts to shoot each other, it's well worth it.
