My supercruise approach timer goes a damn sight faster than my download ...
at least i'm not the only one who sits and watches it.

Alas, at my age cynicism has set in. It read 30 min when I started this sentence and I was in no way surprised to glance up halfway through and see it at 1 hr.
Infinite download timer!
I wrote my first computer program in 1970. I still have the roll of punched paper tape used to feed it into the computer.
Mind you, I haven't written many since. But I can still remember how to use a slide rule.
Download finished for me in about 15-20 minutes.
Promptly loaded it up and went to a local system I hadn't mapped. Flying slowly towards a planet, trying out some of the new scanner features. At about 100km from the planet's surface I attempted to drop into normal space. The animations started for dropping out of cruise, but my ship never dropped out. Stayed in cruise as my ship promptly flew right into the planet. I could actually turn my head a bit and see the surface wire frame as my ship kept flying. Then I received an error that said I couldn't connect to a server. Oops...
Maybe I'll give it a day or two before I fire it up again.

Yup, beta server is always wonky on the first day. Too many trying to use it I guess.
