I'm sure this has been considered, however, I can find it mentioned anywhere, perhaps it is;
I would like to have water as a terrain type such as lakes, rivers, ponds, waterfalls, etc.
Lakes would simply be depressions in the terrain filled with water. It would be great if they could have entrances and exits to connect in flowing and out flowing rivers.
Rivers would be flowing water terrain objects. It would be great if you could assign a source where water starts and an end point (where water ends).
Some water related objects I would like to see would include; pumps and pipes at a minimum. Pumps to move water to higher elevations and through pipes. Pipes, obviously, to transport water to different locations. Pipes would be available both underground and above ground.
There needs to be some way for a user to create a water circuit such as a circular river that flows, so that people can ride rubber rafts and the like around the circular river.
Anyhow, these are my ideas regarding water terrain and water objects.
