Water "mining"

Currently, the most essential element for life is missing in the game: water.

Stations rely on water recycling, but that should not be enough. New water should be needed, especially in "huge" and "very large" populations, and it should probably be possible to "mine" it from ice rings, refined into "processed water" and sold (where the stations then purify it or whatever.)

This could also result in warfare types in the story where water shortages are created on purpose.

FTFY.

More commodities to sell is always good. I can't see why not.

Never actually thought of this but it's pretty obvious. Some systems don't have water in them at all so there stations should have to have it. It would probably be one of the cheapest commodities in the game but would add an extra level of realism and the systems that didn't have water would always have high demmand. Rep for pointing out an obvious idea!

Yes to the above, by blocking water into a system it could quickly become a vary lucritive commodity to be shippin in, if you can get past the blockade!
