Water themed Expansion Pack / Update

Hi everyone. I have a feeling this has been already discussed, but would like to re-iterate it, and since I couldn't find it on the first pages in this section.

It would be great if Frontier for their next Major Update, after this upcoming Major Update for April comes out; to release a Water Expansion Pack in their next Major Update.

Ideas:
1) swimming pools
2) swimming pools... diving boards/platforms
3) swimming pools... assortment of water slides
4) swimming pools.... wave machine/pool
5) swimming pools.... pool lighting, bubbles, spas.

Other ideas:

4) jet boating like Thunderjet in Sydney Australia; and wake racing in Kinect Sports Rivals
5) show animals like dolphins, seals.

water expansion sounds great.. but not with the poolthing.. Its Planet Coaster and not Planet Waterpark..

I like to see swanboats, bumperboats, jets, waterfalls, watertransportrides, more watertrackrides., watershows (animalshows, priateshows that you can place on a boat in the water with an theater on the other side of the water...

this is what i think is a great waterexpansion...

sure.. but rct3 was a finished game at the time when soaked was released.. PC feels still unfishied yet..

We've not yet got a time frame for any potential expansion.

But i agree, it's paramount the game gets a bit more work before such expansions are considered. Hopefully including some of the rides you listed.

I soft agree with you...

Saying the game is unfinished sounds negative, like it has been released too soon. That is totally NOT what i mean, the game is awesome and was ready to be released. But i agree that the "core" game has enough room to expand without doing side dishes like waterparks. The list of rides and features i would love to have is still long :D (Dark ride boats!!) After all that has been added im very supportive of waterparks and stuff but not in the near future [wink]

Just my 2 cents :)

did you never play rct3 soaked? it was the best expansion in the entire series and a highly popular request for PC

so that means they should never add this feature? not in a year or 2 or 3 from now?

just need to use the search feature

oh they can do whatever they want :D i played soaked.. but i didnt like it.. I am not a fan of waterparks.. but i love themeparks.. and... ja.. this game is named "planet coaster".. so i expect more themeparkstuff than waterparkstuff.. maybe in some years when the game is full of things and they dont know what to do next.. :D

rct was not named water park tycoon?? Since planet coaster is about BUILDING it has many things you can build BESIDES just coasters... The name coaster has to do with the fact the game has a highly advanced track editor, which works for many rides besides coasters (like go karts!?)

plus water rides are a major part of amusement parks, hence why they made sure to add 2 water rides at the release of the game, to help those who want water parks deal with the waiting until we get actual water parks. Whether you enjoy them or not, they are very popular and most of the parks I've been to have them. Some parks are even strictly all water rides.

oh but they do, they already purchased the rights to the name Planet Safari... so expect PC to follow in the footsteps of RCT3s expansions (hopefully)

I really have to disagree here, not everything involving water is waterpark-stuff and non-water is themepark stuff.

I think there is a blurry line in between but i guess to most people a theme park mainly consists of coasters and rides (including a few water rides like log flumes and river rapids)
While to most people a water park mainly consist of pools, waterslides and a few water rides.

I think the log flume and river rapids perfectly fit in a theme park game, even if they are not going the waterpark route.

(once again, im not against waterpark additions, but i think the core game still has a lot things that can be added before moving on to side dishes... but again, thats just personal opinion)

Your from europe right? I think we just have to agree to disagree.

Here in the states, most parks have water slides. I don't think calling a log flume a "theme park ride" is a factual statement, more of an opinion. Many parks in the states are not "theme" parks they are just "amusement" parks with rides. So IMO a ride is either a "dry ride" or a water ride.

Im from Europe indeed :) So you are right, maybe we have to agree to disagree then as i have never been to any american park.

You can only judge from what you know. Over here (Western Europe) we have mostly theme parks with river rapids and log flumes. We don't really have waterparks like they have in USA i guess.
Over here we just have big swimming pools with slides but i wouldn't call those real waterparks.

Water rides are more for the hottest days of the year, while dry rides can be rode in somewhat colder weather. Somebody whos a little more dressed up (or doesnt want to be wet) probably wont ride a log flume [wink] thats why, at least with the parks Ive been to, they usually keep the log flume near the rest of the water rides and lockers/changing rooms or are even closed on colder days

One time I rode a very steep/fast giga coaster just as it started to rain (it was just a light sprinkle) but darn I felt like I was getting stung by a million bees, it was crazy!!!!

Anyway, many people think go-karts are not "theme park rides" yet PC still has those (and so do some of the parks Ive been to). So I suspect water rides to be a very big add-on for PC hopefully soon [up]

I'd love a soaked expansion, the only thing I wasn't keen on in RCT3 was the water slides, they were fiddly to build and I didn't like them much, I hope if planet coaster does it, the slides will be improved.

this is a daily started thread...

I'm loving the idea, but maybe as a separate game with the option to integrate it into planet coaster?

I sort of want a whole new game bringing out for Planet Safari (rather than an add on to planet coaster)- I realise that this probably won't happen, but my reasons are that I was a massive fan of the zoo tycoon series, and although I liked the wild expansion pack to rct3, I sort of preferred the actual concept of a separate zoo rather than one integrated into the park. I sort of feel the same about a water park too I suppose.
So an actual Planet Safari game, for me, would be absolute heaven, perhaps more so than planet coaster. But I'll be happy with an expansion to planet coaster if that's the way it goes **crosses fingers tightly for a separate game**

Pretty sure planet coaster is about coasters

I disagree, I'd like to see planet water park. I think it was extremely popular in the past, too

I agree with this too. I'd rather see a new game about water parks, then water slides added to planet coaster. In my opinion they should improve planet coaster with other things... More scenery? More coasters? More (themepark ) rides... etc and not swimming pools or water slides.

For those who want planet water park or safari to be separate from Planet coaster, let me ask you this:

What if planet safari uses the same modular building system as PC, and the same track ride system, and the same terrain system. Dont you think people would want to combine scenery elements they have already built in PC to be added into PS? I want to build a safari with a train that goes through the animal enclosures, and I want to reimagine real world parks like Busche Gardens, Disneys Animal Kingdom, or other real life theme parks that also have safaris.

If they made PS a separate game, would you also want them to have to start from scratch making a new engine? I don't think so. PS will probably use the same engine and features as PC allowing them to be combined into something greater. I would not want to switch between games, and think to myself "wow I wish I could build a coaster in my safari park" or "I wish this scenery element was in both games" or "I wish I could transfer this building from one game to the other" why create such a limitation?

Seems like it would be much much better to just combine them in the same way as rct3 soaked and wild. Why ruin something that was already successful for many years? I do not want another "zoo tycoon" i would not purchase a standalone zoo game. I want an expansion to PC to make it bigger and better, and I don't think I'm the only one

Pretty sure planet coaster is about coasters
pretty sure I've seen people build parks without them

I would love an Addon with Attractions like these:

Atlantica_02_Europa-Park.jpg

1024px-Europapark_Poseidon.jpg

You don't need a seperate Game for that.

Only because the Americans have "Water Parks" where these Attractions mostly are, doesn't mean it has to be like that for everybody. In Europe pretty much every Themepark worth its salt has Water based Attractions.

Please don't make it a whole seperate Game i would love them to be in my Planet Coaster Parks. Thank you ^^

So? Doesn't mater ...

They don't. They could use exactly the same engine. I don't see the problem here. Really.... Why not? How does that affect your likings of a game :/

I doesn't. They should focus on new and better things.
For the last time. This isnt rct3 or rct4. Don't expect them to copy features from other RCT games.

Why ruin something that was already successful for many years?
What?

Then don't buy it.

Indeed. So do I. But not another of those things that have been in RCT3. Seriously. Move on.

Seriously... Animals don't belong in planet coaster

Those things could fit perfectly to planet coaster in my opinion. But swimming pools and water slides... naaaah
