water world surface

But, what about water world surface? it's long time now they appear only like blue ball of water without any land...
I've searched in forum but i haven't found information about...

Someone knows something about this??

thanks :)

You might need to expand a little, I'm not really sure what you're asking... Water worlds (by which I assume you mean earthlikes with no land/ continents, like Industry in Zaonce system) would look like blue balls of water with no land from space. They have atmospherics, which are pretty. They're fairly well spot on as they are in the game. What sort of change is it you're thinking of?

I'm guessing he feels like they should have land visible, but the definition of a water world is a planet whose surface is entirely liquid water.

Prior to 1.1 or 1.2 (I can't remember which), they had a different sort of look, and were more varied. They had 'greenery' but didn't look like anything on earth.

They are water worlds in the way the life and eco-system are water based, like Earth is, but unlike Earth they may have a completely different atmosphere (unbreathable) and other conditions that make it unsuitable for us to live on.

An ammonia world has ammonia oceans, and life would have ammonia in place of water in them, and the eco-system would be based on that.

the definition (from game map) is: terrestrial water world with an active water based chemistry and carbon-water based life...
terrestrial! this means a planet where there is life and liquid water, not a planet entirely covered by water :)

before 1.1 water world had a visible surface, then, i don't know why, frontier changed something....

I discovered a Waterworld with land on it at my trip to SagA far away from sol:

Not sure how accurate these water worlds are. I found one earlier and I couldn't find Kevin Costner anywhere.

I was quite pleased with this outcome.

I'll get me coat..

You do get water worlds with land masses on them, I actually find it more difficult finding water worlds that are pure ocean.

What surprises me about that water world is the lack of cloud formations!

I can show you much more waterworlds without any clouds.
I think 1/3 of about 50 waterworlds i discovered have no or nearly no clouds.
And 3 of 50 have a little bit land on it (ice is not counting).
(all after 1.1)

Also an example:
