Hardware & Technical Wathog HOTAS....I about give up with it....

I have tried and tried to get used to this thing.

Love the feeling of the metal, etc. I just have hands on the smaller side and I am just not getting comfortable with these system. Seems too big for my hands. etc.

Anyway else having issue or had issues with this unit like that?

I haven't tried it but it does look good.
Keep practicing it would be an expensive thing to cast aside :)

Well would not 'cast it aside' :) I am too cheap for that. Just would find itself on ebay. I think.

I just have a hard time being able to handle all the buttons etc on the throttle.

I had a similar experience with the saitek X45. To be frank I now have a fairly cheap Thrustmaster T-flight hotas x and its pretty damn good for the money, could do with a hat on the throttle but other than that I prefer it to the much more expensive x45 I had several years ago.

Still I wouldn't say no to a warthog myself, looks like a beautify piece of kit, and so many buttons I can't imagine you ever need to use the keyboard.

I'm perfectly satisfied with it using it for over 2 years, but I can see how people with small hands might run into trouble using it.

Couldn't imagine touching a plastic stick ever again, but then again, I have huge hands and I hate plastic with a passion.

I KNOW that part of what I am feeling about this system is that I don't have a 'home' for it. I have to move it around from the dining room table, to the kitchen table, etc.

I own my own business, and obviously my own office. My wife has 'determined' that I don't need an office or desk at home. Most of the time she would be correct, as I have not played a game in years and years. So sitting in my 'chair' in the living room with my laptop has been perfectly fine. Now that E : D has come along...things have changed.

I am looking at sim cockpits, but don't know where I would put it.

Plus I know that the height of where the joystick and throttle are placed is making a huge difference. That is another reason I am trying and trying to make this work as I know it is not all the 'system's fault. If that makes sense.

Hi just a quick question about the warthog, does it have a twist stick for yaw or do you need separate pedals. I am really interested in this stick...

Go to Google.com
Enter "Thrustmaster Warthog Twist"

The answer will come....

No, it doesn't have a twist.

Your table and chair height do make a big difference in how easy it is to use. I tried and failed at first with a fixed height chair and small computer desk - it was too cramped and I was playing hunched forward which quickly led to back pain.

I now use a comfy office chair (height adjustable) and big L-shaped desk that I bought from a 2nd hand place and it works well, but takes up a lot of space.

There is a learning curve to using a HOTAS, but once you get used to it, it feels extremely natural.

Mine are stable dead centre. Though it don't snap back when i let go of the stick. I still have to bring it back.

Im looking for a little harder mini springs to replace the four corners springs, just to get it a little harder. The main spring is to hard for my liking. Maybe with a extension mod. That will put a little more momentum on the spring but a longer stick that need to be mounted lower then it is on my table to be comfy

I think this spring mod is to user taste more than performance enhancing. I thoughrly recommend a 7.5 cm-10cm extension now IMHO this does improve performance and accuracy
