Way to change a system security level ?

Hi everyone,

Me and my player faction are in important difficulty to take control of a system (the controlling faction is very influent), and we thought destroying security is a way to help us.
But in this system (GD 140), the security level is High and everytime we destroy a security vessel, a lot of anacondas drop and that's just impossible for us to continue.
So my question is : Is there a way to change the security level of a system ?

Thank you, fly safe commanders o7

Not that I know of. You might try and work for a anarchy minor faction which would technically remove the law enforcement. To do this though you would have to force the anarchy faction into a civil war state with the controlling faction and make sure they won the war. You get minor factions to change states by running missions, trading and handing in bounty tickets at their controlled stations from other factions.

I think Security Level is one of those things that are hard-coded into the game at the moment, like Population. There's nothing players can do to change it, up or down. If it changes, it only changes during an update, when FD hand-code the changes.

Some states lowers security. For instance if the controlling faction is at war anywhere their security level should drop a level.
The instant response from coppers is sort of an effect of them having good security. :)

There is some sort of "security bucket" and actions that contribute to security add, and crime removes.
If the bucket has enough taken out, the state will move to unrest and lockdown.
Bounty Hunting will improve security.

So your question has two themes.
1) The overall security level (hidden but not hard coded) that affects the states.
2) The response of the system authority NPCs.

When trying to reduce the security state bucket by crimes like murder, remember this useful phrase:
"RUN IT'S THE COPS"

Thank you all for your help.
I know a lot of things about the BGS but it still complicated sometimes...

Your reply is very interesting because the controling faction we're trying to take off is present in a lot of systems around our one and they were in war until yesterday.
So maybe destroying their ships while they are in war is a better solution for us.
