One thing that drives me nuts making train stations in particular, since they are mostly on the ground, is getting the tracks and station to line up perfectly parallel to a given path grid or building grid. I know how to build on a station platform grid, but I've never found an obvious way to get track to run in parallel. This drives me nuts when I have to curve track and then I try to get it aligned with the grid of a different road. I think the track will be parallel, but when I build a station on that track, it's askew.
It would be easier for zoo planning if I could place ride stations where I want them then complete the track later, but I can't figure out how to do that either. Anyone have any tips?
