Way too many wing missions and nobody to complete them with!

The mission board is becoming quite frustrating. About 70% of all the missions I'm getting are wing missions with a pay equivalent to what I used to get with solo missions way before. Most of the times I can't even find a single type of mission I'm looking for, while there are 10+ of them for Wing.
Not only it's humanly impossible to complete these tasks in due time unless I play Elite Dangerous 24/7, there's also pretty much no one to play it together.
I'm on the Xbox around the Tangarda system in the Empire and I honestly have not found a single player for the past weeks playing ED! The possibility of finding someone that happens to be around the same location willing to complete the same types of wing missions is ridiculously impossible just as it is trying to complete a wing mission alone.

We really need an overhaul in the mission board, perhaps separating Wing Missions from Solo Missions in different tabs and having a proper payout, or having PC and Console players in the same instance, as it's pretty much a ghost void everywhere else from the starting systems I even forget this is an online game...

Agree 100% regarding your comment about the payout for wing missions. If on a solo mission I can get e.g. CR1million for transporting 100 units of something, a wing mission with a reward of CR10million for transporting 5000 units of something just doesn't add up. FDEV need to make the rewards commensurate with the effort.

I see the same situation on PC. More wing missions then solo missions and very few players during the time's of day I'm on.
They (FD) have created wings, Multi-crew, and Squadrons which seems like a step in the right direction to bring players together, but not entirely effective for those who don't go looking for groups outside the game.
Ideally i would like to see a few community tools that promote socializing. Like an ability to flag yourself as actively looking for wing or a type of game play. They have these tools under multi-crew , i feel they should extend these to other game activities. So if you pick up a wing mission and you can run a search for others looking to do wing missions and it will give you a list of those currently flagged and available.

Never though I'd see the day when mining made tons more money than trading and missions, but that seems to be the case these days.

Frontier constantly seems to update one thing to the exclusion of other things causing shifts in the balance of the game.

I run the wing missions all the time in Solo. You just have to know how to kill the lead. If it's a bulk kill mission, many of the ships you'll see are in wings but not all. You don't have to engage ships you don't want to engage. As for haulage, I'd never take one of those 10m Cr for 6000t of anything. Even if a max capacity ship that's about 5 or 6 round trips. You could make more than 10m Cr just doing trading in that ship between those runs, but if you were winged with a few other players, you each would get the 10m, as I understand it.

The pirate leader kill missions where the FdL has 3 Vulture wingmates, I just ram the leader to just before his shields drop, then engage and tank the Vulture attack as much as possible. Often I kill the leader with about 70% hull left on my ship, sometimes I have to scramble out and just recently I lost my canopy and had to fly back blind (thank goodness for the little compass and SCA).

I don't mess with combat zones. They aren't worth the trouble and the ships are buffed to stupidity.

Often you have to leave your preferred location to find work. I'm in Jonai now, allied with everyone but the Purple folks, and the missions are drying up for anything but combat zones and courier missions (or chasing convicts and deserters around like monkeys).

My favorite are the kill missions for CZ's.

Solo mission to kill 81 ships paying 5 million or wing mission to kill 51 ships paying 25 million.

Just think, someone actually got a paycheck for letting that go live and leaving it this way for months.

Those are the best wing missions in the game! You can take them when solo as well and get paid more for less time invested than the non-wing versions. I love those massacre wing missions. CZ wing missions have literally no downside when solo.

Trade wing missions on the other hand are a real pita when solo and just clog up the mission board.

Please don't call FDev's attention to wing missions:

Some types stack.
They give you a week to complete.
They are easy to solo with the right ship build.
If you get blown up after completing one, you don't lose the mission reward.

In other words, quit griping and make it work for you! You aren't living unless you have 400 million worth of stacked wing missions in your mission computer.

Missions are just daft in general.

Killing 96 NPC's is not a fun mission. Lol

And killing less for an equally paying wing mission is just daft.

Hopefully they overhaul it soon™.

Hilarious part is that Wing and Non-wing massacre missions are identical, except for the payout, which is more for a wing mission.

Wing missions just shouldn't exist... instead... it should just be "if you hand in a mission, the payment is split between active wing members", regardless of the mission.

Fair point. We all know that FDev isn't gonna raise solo mission reward, but nerfbathammer the wing rewards (or triple the needed kills)

Why do you want to promote socializing? Let players decide how do they prefer playing, without promoting/stimulating them to some specific way to play.
The one who starts with just a promotion of people to something which he thinks to better for them - finally ends by forcing people to something he needs from them.
Promotion is the first step to authoritarism.

My Prior statement was simply meaning a way to find like minded people in game. like this forum does not dictate how you play but allows you a way to connect with other pilots. The Multi-crew feature has something similar, you can start a multi-crew session and pick what gameplay type you are going to do that day and set your extra seats to open. Other players looking to join in the gameplay type may do so. I'm just saying expand upon that limited tool to more then just the multi-crew feature. similar to classic mmo's you can flag yourself as "looking" for a gameplay loop and others with similar tags can join together.

Fully agree.

I'm in a place running data and I find all the time that the board is saturated with wing assassinations.

I thought it was supposed to pay some attention to what we were flying at the time, so I got out of my FDL and picked out a small ship outfitted for general missions (can still defend itself) and I see no noticeable change.

At least if the win missions were tabbed out or something it would be different. Just, massive saturation. Needs more variety.

Because promoting something usually makes it easier to find on your own terms, which IMO for the less well- known aspects of multiplayer Elite would be a welcome development.

As to steps to authoritarianism... you must be kidding.
