I posted this on reddit and a support guy (CMDR Kosmos) suggested I post it here.
Currently, in order to remember a system I want to go back to at some point, I buy a sidewinder and leave it docked there as a marker. I could always use a text file or even a pen and notebook, but I'm fundamentally a lazy man, and would much rather there were tools in the galaxy map to do it instead. Just some way of annotating the map with markers and labels.
Alternatively, ship naming so I can name my sidewinders so I don't forget their purpose.
I could then have a fleet of sideys called things like "Nice RES near a station", "Pretty looking gas giant", and "Really cheap Imperial slaves"
