You should be able to place a marker on a planet so if you are searching for a specific area on the planet you can go to it a lot easier, rather than having to look over at your latitude and longitude and guess where you are when you are in orbital flight

One of the most suggested features by planet explorers. Hopefuly in the pipelines. Somewhere. In the basement of Fdev HQ. 
I'd rather just be able to enter a set of coordinates and let the ship head that way on it's own... not unlike how the navigation system on my boat works... but to each their own.
While we're being ridiculous - GPS limpets! Dot them around the planet to enable fully automatic navigation.
