you too bro, it's not about if they came up with it. they've been at this longer.
all it's about is if people want it or not.
Thank you, always appreciate coming from you

A ship pack with about ten ships in it would work, that way it's a "Expansion Pack" rather than a micro transaction.
that would be a excellent idea.
I perfectly get it.
Still, they won't update it forever.
That's not yet "forever". And those games are also very different beasts, seeing as armies all around the world have been using modified versions of ArmA games for simulation and training purposes, known as "Virtual Battlespace".
That's why they keep updating them, it's not so much for players as it is for what is actually their biggest clients.
STOP! I got it, they can sell real-estate that is not P2W, hangars, houses, outposts....
Yes, brilliant business opportune here FD....where can I apply?
That's a terrible idea. We don't need to make Frontier think the awful stuff done in mainstream, casual and triple A games is acceptable here.
There is also no need for this thread because Frontier has already planned things out and/or will never seek financial advice from this forum.
I think a bake sale at me mum's church next Sunday would fetch a fair bit of coin. Them ladies do like their fried pies ya know![]()
Nooooo just NO!
Is it an American thing to feel the need for Adverts in every part of your life ?![]()
No I hate ads, but I hate this game doing poorly more.
FD are developing a pretty complicated piece of software here. My guess is that if these boffins are smart enough to do that, they are also smart enough to devise plenty of ways for David Braben to be able to be clad in very comfortable and expensive jumpers for the rest of his days. I am confident that they can do that without turning their current labour of love into Space Farmville, thereby turning off all of us who paid good money during the Kickstarter so that wouldn't happen.
the whole point isnt advice but to let people know that we would love to buy more ships.
and it's a great idea. just cause it's done in mainstream doesn't mean its a bad idea hipster.
i honestly don't get it cause it's not easy to make ships including the interior. so if for a good price i don't see why it's such a bad idea it's not pay to win because you would still have to earn it in game with in game credits and it would'nt give you some bonus over other ships except by looks. but if you agree or not, people would buy it.
Have you by chance ever played the Need for Speed racing games? The whole buying cars thing got really ugly, really fast.
Be careful, you're beginning to sound like a member of a cult! The game developers are just your ordinary clever people. They're not magical elves or something. There are other space games that are happy to take all your money and promise you the earth in return, if a religious experience is what you're after.
I'd be happy if this turns out to be as good as FFE with upgraded graphics. There's a way to go before that happens.

The argument was that "THEY NEED A TON OF MONEY TO SUSTAIN THE DEVELOPMENT!!!!"Atoms don't last forever, but David Braben did specially day like Eve that Elite Dangerous will be upgraded for newer and better hardware in the future.

By the time all expansions are released, a long time will have passed already, so yes they'll keep on updating it in the meantime, but we still don't know how much money they have, need, nor spent, so how long will it go on is completely unknown.
As for ArmA and VBS, they still share the license of the engine, and still work together on this. Most ArmA fixes were backported from VBS seeing the more intense testing it got from the mil side, and even some content updates followed requests of development on the VBS side. Seeing as the argument is "money", it's thanks to VBS licenses that ArmA2 development was kept afloat.
