Ways to make money , at the start ?

Hello everyone,

Just like the original elite , to get those first bits of credits can be hard work, has any one got nay trade routes they could share with us so i can get the credits rolling in ?

It is great to see it back , had to buy a gaming pc just to play this , so eager to get started and see those credits roll in , any help be greatly appreciated.

My standard suggestion in that matter is: A piece of paper and a pen.

Go to the first station, write down the Buy and Sell prices for each commodity, then go the next station, and do the same until you have captured them all.

It might take a while but then you have a hardcopy of it that you can peruse in your leisure while being docked without having to juggle a website and game at the same time.

I pick up Personal Weapons containers off the LP 98-132-4 unidentied signal source, and sell them in Freeport.

That location is dangerous, and combat, at least for me, is no good there - you get jumped by multiple pirates at a time, and die fast.

However, stealth and silent running work wonders, just keep away from other ships if possible. You will make about 8,000 Cr per run in Sidewinder. I have not needed a heat sink launcher so far, but bought it just in case.

Those runs are far more exciting (and profitable) than conventional trading, at least for me.

For myself in the begining i wasnt bothered about making money i just wanted to see things. So i was jumping here, there and everywhere like a gummy bear. Checking out all the signals and combat zones. I managed to snag 3 kills giving me an extra 1.5k (first kill was an anaconda - Very pleased with that one!) So after that i decided to go trading. For that i'm using the Pen + paper method and reading the descriptions about the star systems themselves to give a clue on what to buy and where to sell it. It's a major part of the game, finding them trade routes. But there is enough information in game to work out some profitable routes without falling back to websites.
I know its beta and you just want money try out all them shiny toys out there but this will be a top skill you will acquire early on.
Go out there make yourself either a freelancer, privateer, corsair, rogue trader. What ever you want its up to you...

You put a lot of things in perspective(most notably the logitech extreme 3d pro) in very succinct terms and have contributed to up'ing my game considerably!

I use the Elite trading tools and have found the most profitable routes vs risk - I managed to get to 30,000cr in ~ 4-5 hrs (from nothing).
