• You granted us an extra week of money-making so our fleets got completetd and some money in the bank will prepare us for future things to come.
• The cheap engineering ensured that our current ships can be considered "finished" now and we are ready to face new challenges.
• You postponed the expected mining discussions to a later date so our minds are unoccupied and open to new thoughts (and the forum isn't filled with heated discussions).

Why. 3.1 is only a small update and doubt there would be a big announcement for it. No updated or new features, and there will be no beta.

I'd suspect that the JWE June12th deadline for release is prioritized, although I'd agree 3.1 as a small update could be released perhaps soon days after when FD (and their QA) breathe a sigh of relief with a successful release. But my post was more to OP's particular: "And NOW would be a perfect time to announce some additional payed content!", I'd highly doubt major paid content announcements for ED until after.

3.0 storyline is coming to a close, probably this week with the destruction of the Aegis megaships, so I was hoping that 3.1 would drop next Tuesday (like 3.0 dropped at the end of the 2.4 storyline). The strangely exact timing of the end-of-bonus at 11am Wednesday (instead of on the weekly Thursday restart when it started) has me wondering if they're gonna drop in on the Wednesday.

But my guesses tend to be wrong, so we will see

Uh, what stuff? Mining stuff has been delayed. Exploration stuff is not-now. Other stuff is vague stuff and 3.1 stuff has, inexplicably again, no beta for testing the stuff (we're gonna do it in live? brace-brace-brace!).

Yes, I could be wrong too about 3.1 not coming until after JWE. I guess I'm in no hurry and busy enough with gameplay goals in ED currently. I really hope JWE has a good release with its timing, where FD can get back to ED after, and Frontier's future is assured at least for this fiscal year.

I dont think they will care. They are very different games so see no issues. As to the new paid for DLC, if there is another expo I expect it to be announced then.

From what they said, some QoL updates, missions improvements, ships, more scenarios. Basically nothing major.

People said they wanted QoL updates and bugfixes more than new features, so that's what FD are doing. Hence the increasingly strident calls for ... new features. Q2/Q3 updates should also introduce new phases of the Thargoid / Guardian storyline that most are ignoring.

I'm guessing one doesn't want competing interests. Release JWE alongside release of 3.1 could draw attention away from where they want it to be. Besides; releasing two things at the same time can be a nightmare; rather better to do one thing at a time.

I dont think they will care. They are very different games so see no issues. As to the new paid for DLC, if there is another expo I expect it to be announced then.

I still think he has a fair point though.
You would want to have everyone's attention focussed on the imminent JWE release, and not "dillute" the message by mixing in ED news right now.
From a marketing point of view i mean.
Time enough to return to that after the JWE dust has settled.

i can only speak for myself, but the main thing why im not bothering with the goids is because of those silly rules.. that we need magic weapons to do any harm.
If they would make it that G5 engineered weapons do the same as those AX gear, allot more people would fight them i think.

Or we could let the ATR fight the war for us. Magic vs magic...

As for the Thargoids - you are correct that Galnet is being very quiet (last post 10th May since we started defeating them) - I guess that's why so few are bothering to follow along.
