I just watched a YouTube Video from Eurogamer,which you can find here.
From this video, I took this screenshot for you:

These those continents? We have Antarctica there, Polar and oceania.
I must admit, as a non-native speaker I almost fainted when reading oceania because it means we get animals fromthe oceans. In all honesty, I still wasn't expecting orcas or dolphins in base game. But seals and sea lions. Oh well...

It will be pretty interesting what more animals we will get. It feels like te 50 are almost full already

I am also very excited! I can't wait to know what else we will have. We actually have 35 confirmed (see my google spreadsheet), excluding Terrarium animals which would make it 45..
(All seen in my list have been confirmed whether it be from a stream (menu tags, sneak peeks, actual footage of them moving about) or being confirmed directly by Frontier devs on their social media.

I won't necessarily call the hyena confirmed yet, but given that the gharial was predicted correctly from the same source, I'd consider it highly likely.

I think its pretty obvious at least Kangaroos, Penguins and Polar Bears were to be included so that could definitely explain Oceania, Antarctica and the Polar caps.

She.. xD Also, I have a section called "Speculated/Hinted/Expected", you can see it at the top, they're blue "links", it's just not in the official listing yet as it was only seen in the #MysteryMonday so not getting ahead of myself as it hasn't been spoken of yet by devs.. xD

No problem! haha. Thank you! I spent a lot of hours researching the web for the spreadsheet and my site that holds more of the animals' information (but heavy work in progress right now). Yes, I am highly expecting them myself. They are amazing creatures.

You, guys, today I sorted out every number of animals that were confirmed in the game today and there's like 47 different species in the game, but who knows. Whether this game has over 50 animals in the game or more, will be an exciting news when more comes out.

The deluxe edition animals don't count towards the 50+, as they are a bonus for buying the deluxe edition of the game. Its the same context as Jurassic World Evolution, when they did their deluxe edition.

Just pure logic. If beta will have around 40 species, game at release will have at least half of that number more.

And that's what I limit my expectation to as well.
60 is 20% more than 50 and quallifies as "many, many more", I guess.
It still could be even more, of course. But why set myself up for a dissapointment? I prefer positive surprises!
