I agree with the suggestion of a special thread for newbie questions in preparation for the game release. Who thinks some of the existing forums should be restricted for posting to alpha/beta backers only? The newbs could see and learn from what we say, but have their own part of the forum for posting.

Big +1 for this. A dedicated thread with stickies for FAQs and links to tutorials. Also, a brief history of the ED universe wouldn't go amiss.

Yup, that's a good start. But ED is so out of the box with regard to other games new players are likely to have played that I think it NEEDS something to address any 'What the heck!' responses the game will attract.

That why I give the hint to use PreFlight Check on .... to repeat the Important Keys again and again...

Speaking as a noob this is a big place with lots of information. A 'special place' for people like me, full of the most useful info would be invaluable around launch time.

Thank you sir. I think at launch I am going to make an in debth tutorial with all the new features so new players aren't confused with beta videos.
