Engineers we need more ways to increase rep with engineers

With Elvira Martuuk I have
- lv2 thrusters
- lv3 shields
- lv4 FSD
- lv 1 SCB x2

and I am up to 41% and no more mods to do to get to level 5.

I happy with the mods that I have, does anyone know if you have to apply the mod before reputation is increased?

All engineers I've met so far have at least one alternative to mod building to increase rep.
For Elvira, you can sell her explorer data. The rep increase is directly related to the credit worth.

A couple of the engineers have no cheap high level recipes is the problem, FSD/Thruster upgrades so far have required the most rare components of any of the modifications its extremely time consuming to rank them up from crafting, you do need a huge chunk of exploration data to do 4>5 though so either way your screwed.

You might be best off making T3 shields, the shield guys the only one i've got at 5 and i remember shields being comparatively cheap to get mats for.

Depends how you feel about exploring I guess. A 3 day expedition got me to L5 with Felicity and L3 with Elvira without building a single mod with either.

The Dweller wants module building. There is no other sign of progress. It clearly says "purchase modules", no other alternatives displayed. Maybe there is some hidden way but isn't displayed. Lack of information would be the case then.

But why progressing? Didn't FD announce that there will be a way to influence the outcome of a mod? Right now I don't see this possibility, nor do I see a much needed module and material storage.

The Engineers patch is more or less a like a car without wheels. Or a car with wheels but without the engine. Anyways, essential features are missing.

a 3 day expedition is a fair time investment though don't you think? :p

Yes, but I preferred that over scrubbing around looking for components.
There is no right/wrong way. Just choose the one you prefer, or mix 'n' match.
It's surprising how much exploration data you can accumulate by just honking systems in the bubble as you go about your business.
If you have room for the surface scanner too, scanning any earth-likes, or water worlds when you are near them is very worthwhile. You don't need to be the first to make good credits.

The dweller can be improved just by selling stuff to his station.

- Level 1 > 2 needs about 5,000cr trade profit per 1%
- Level 2 > 3 needs about 21,000cr trade profit per 1%
- Level 3 > 4 needs about 80,000cr trade profit per 1%

Currently at 34% in L3. Again, not a single mod created.
.
The influence thing is coming 'soon' (TM)
