Sure I can ship goods and services from one place to another via python or whatnot, but if the destination doesn't have a large landing pad, large transport ships are out of luck, which is why I recommend creating Ship Launched Shipping Ships.

Now, you can take your Shipping Ship With a Shipper Bay, and Launch a Shipping Ship from your Shipping Bay to ship stuff down to the Medium or smaller landing pads (perhaps even creating a "Tiny" class landing pad for some stations).

Players who get one and start shipping stuff can call themselves members of the Shipping Ship Shipping Ship club, and get a nice sticker or something.

"A ship shipping ship shipping ships."

Is a grammatically correct sentence in the English language.

That said, no.

That is the point of deciding between a medium ship and a large ship for trading. There are *generally* better prices at outposts. So do you take your cheaper python/type 7 and haul few goods at more profit/ton, with less overall profit, but less risk, or do you take your anaconda/cutter/type 9 and trade more goods at less profit/ton, with more overall profit and risk?

I don't want to see that circumvented.

I'm all up to having a deployable small shuttle capable of carrying a few tons of stuff (even the SRV can carry some stuff) or some passengers (troops for a combat drop, or emergency evac etc) and able to dock in stations, pick stuff up in USS and land at planets.

I even dream of having such shuttles (or small ships) being necessary to fly into those magnificent CQC installations FD placed in the real game, navigate those tunnels to some inner small docking slot to pick up or deliver some kind of special stuff to pickup or complete some missions.

Unfortunately launchable ships was yet another added gameplay element which had only combat mechanics in it.

No. As mentioned above, landing pad size is an element of ship balancing. If large ships could access outposts, you'd be paying a hell of a lot more for them than you are now.

I want this as an explorer sls - s for shuttle ?

I mean, I like the idea of shuttles. But they ought not be able to dock at outposts to try and work around the ship balancing points I mentioned.

But then what's the point? y'know?

If shuttles can't dock, then they are rather pointless and they would serve no purpose whatsoever.

If the shuttle can only carry a low amount of cargo, it would hardly negate the ship size balance of outposts.

Imagine a shuttle capable of carrying say 6 tons of cargo. Its not like someone would try to fill a Cutter by doing 120 straight shuttle outpost dockings

To the naysayers - who in their right mind is going to empty a large ship 2-4T at a time?
Sure, you could do it but it's going to take a while.

I think a small ship-based freighter is an obvious addition and opens up some possibilities down the line.

A. Correct.

B. Yes and No. For bulk trading, you're right, probably not. As the time required would negate any profit/hr advantages a CMDR might seek to exploit. However - Mission running is often limited by your choice to take a large ship.

Obviously I would be trilled to be able to take even MORE missions in my Annie/Vette to do things like deliver data to outposts, but I'm not sure that it's good for the game. That is part of the "ship balance" and player decision making angle that, IMO, is important to Elite.

C. Considering we have people calling multi-crew "Pay-to-Win," because other CMDRs are *CLEARLY* going to go through the trouble of purchasing 2 extra accounts to run AFK crewmates for the 2 extra pips, it seemed appropriate.

Haven't heard that argument before, but yeah, now that I think about it, I can't think of a single person who wouldn't spend $80 (or $40 if it's non horizons only, but I doubt it) for an extra 2 pips that they have to assign and forget because they don't actually have full control over them unless they go to the other accounts to assign it. And that's assuming you already have an extra 2 computers that can run the game.

How'd you miss it, there was a whole ridiculous thread about it (or 7?)!

I think there was a few guys who *said* they would do it via remote pc or some such, and alt tabbing, who already had the extra hardware to run it.

I tried to avoid the inferno that was lit by wild speculation ;)
