We need the King Cobra and Spitting Cobra

How about a combat focused Cobra for the Alliance.

King Cobra medium sized fighter with X4 mediums and the Spitting Cobra with X6 small.


- Moderate armour
- Moderate speed
- Lower than average jump range
- Few but moderately sized optionals
- Agile

You're pretty much describing the cobra mk 4, it's actually not amazing but I tried it before engineers so it might be better with some mods.
Three small and two mediums and slower than the mk 3.

Not really. The only thing might be hardpoints but the extremely low speed, maneuverability and faar too many optional slots makes it a poor fighter.

I AM talking about a new ship.

A MEDIUM sized Cobra designed for Combat instead of the SMALL sized Cobra's we have today.

The thing that would make it similar is merely shape and name.

I think the Cobra is the wrong ship here.

Hence the King Cobra, it's bigger brother that is designed for combat against the Thargoids. Not a variant but a medium sized version of the classic cobra.

If we're going there then how about a MEGAWINDER. It's a sidewinder, but with a 1000T cargo capacity. After all, if you can have a small and medium cobra then we should definitely have a 'version' of the smallest ship that happens to be ... the largest ship

As much as I'd love to see new varieties of ships introduced, the condition for me is that they be unique in appearance and purpose... rather than more cookie-cutter stamped identical looking ships.

Agreed. Having fun is great (If you want to Han Solo the heck out of the galaxy, Cobra is awesome), but when you want to achieve something in reasonable amount of time, sooner or later you have to upgrade, not sidegrade.
