We need the manual!!!

Ah but the original Elite manual was revolutionary!! I will be printing, binding and laminating my digital manual when it arrives!

I still have my originals somewhere.

Since I'm not a millionaire I'd rather save my ink for more important things. I'd happily pay a bit extra (say £10) if there was an actual physical manual that could be bought form the store.

As someone already stated a manual at this point is waste, so much probably going to change before the 16th. There are some good guides on these forums if one only take 5 minutes to find them. Or the patience to try out stuff yourself in-game

Yeah, I looked out my old star map recently, with it's creases selotaped 'cuse it had been opened and folded so many times for route planning. Ahhh memories.

there were not many features with 3.9 nor with 4.0.

Mostly fixes and tweaks. Adding in the whole universe as being playable could hardly be considered a feature which would suddenly require a manual more than before.

manuals became irrelevant for games over ten years ago.

Maybe to you. I always ENJOY reading the manual for games. There is usually back story and ofter historical information. I often find small points but critical points of information that you will never come across by trial and error. It doesn't have to be printed, (save the trees), a PDf is fine. There is supposed to be a Digital Manual and Digital Music as part of my Kickstarter. I just wish they would release the manual. The current Sidewinder WIP manual is very old and much of it is out of date.

A nice pdf manual would do just fine with the final release, specially for those completely new to the series.

I still like manuals as well. I recently bought into the pre-order & beta and I spent a lot of time trying to figure things out when I could've just looked at the manual. I like a good, thick paper manual in concept (and nostalgia I suppose) but after getting a tablet a couple of years ago I'm fully on the digital band wagon.
