The problem that I and many others are finding is that when attempting to collect materials, you often get everything you don't need with very little of what you do. Considering you can only pin one blueprint for each engineer at a time, it's very hard to know what materials to throw away and which ones to keep. All of this compounded with the fact that no one really knows where to go to get all of these things makes finding the materials the biggest nuisance in the game.
So, my proposed solution is to remove the material and data limit...
Which seems like a logical move, since the current limit is an arbitrary constant throughout all ships anyway, regardless of size.
OR
The ability to have access to all engineer blueprints from your ship anytime.
There really is no reason not to have this feature anyway, considering that this is 3302, and since we already have MicroSD cards that hold hundreds of gigabytes in 2016, then imagine the data storage we've got in 3302. This also plays into the 200 data storage limit. Again, makes no sense.
The problem with the engineers system as it stands is that you need so much stuff to even get started. It's overwhelming to new players and veteran casuals alike, and while the (Grade 5) upgrades may be worth the time, a lot of people might not have the time required to access these new upgrades.
TL;DR: Imaginary limits on materials should be gone and we should be able to see all (discovered) engineer blueprint requirements from the ship.
