Weak and cheap is fun too

I see a lot of people talk about fast money making, having millions etc.
It's all good! Play the way that pleases you. Spacesims all the way!

I just want to share, that I don't care about earning money anymore, and my cheap eagle feels fun for me.
No suggestions, no complaints, no questions. Just sharing what I feel about the way I game.

Well it's the beauty of the game isn't it? The freedom of choice I mean.
Some ppl find it fun to earn milions, some find it fun to get the best ship they can afford and are just happy as is and have a blast with what they got :)

I may be rolling in a Python for the heavy lifting, but stopping to buy a Sidewinder with an interdictor and an improbable loadout is great fun to be letting off steam :)

Those poor NPCs don't stand a chance ;)

More people need to focus on what they enjoy, rather than the credit grind. I don't get people that complain about mining or bounty hunting making it difficult to get o something like a python or anaconda. Could you imagine the operating costs of those big ships when your out there pew pewing bad guys? LOL

I did the grind thing to get me into the ship I wanted, now I go about doing whatever I please!

Well, absolutely. The Eagle is a great ship to fly. Unfortunately it doesn't have enough equipment space to work for me as an exploration ship.

I've been running with an eagle and have a 350k bounty on me. Sometimes I get lucky and make 5-20k, sometimes I get really lucky and make 120k. It really depends on what the mission gods grace me with at the stations I end up at to sell off my loot. But I'm thinking about relocating soon since a few systems are hostile to me and I don't want bounty hunters coming to here I am. I would be able to take on pythons but I just don't have the firepower to get through the shields and the fights last too long for me to bother. And I'd rather sit on a pile of money using cheap throw-aways. But then again, I like having the hefty bounty and might upgrade.

I agree,
I own a eagle the day 1 jobby dont want to sell it,
A viper fully kitted out for bounty hunting and blasting about, such fun
My medium fitted out Cobra for anything I fancy doing fun ship too.
I had a type 6 for a very short while, sold it for the viper lol
have a few million in credits spare as a buffer, I am not credit hungry at all tho...no you cant have any :p
Maybe I will get an asp at some point but the ships I have do what I want when I want and are great fun.

Same here. Not bothered with chasing millions. I am staying in my Eagle. I bounty hunt, take on some small missions. I upgrade it when I can afford it. Takes a while sometimes, but it is the life I have chosen for this incarnation. I just always make sure I have enough for the insurance , which I think is about 29,000 at the moment as the eagle is pretty upgraded.
We all play the way we want, and I intend to take my death dealing nimble beastie as far as I can. :D

Agreed. I earned 750000 with a basic sidey in a short time (6 or 7 play sessions doing missions, some bounty hunting and trading). In the meantime i've learnt about the game mechanics. Finally i've decided to practice smuggling for a while (in a conveniently outfitted hauler) till i have enough money to buy a heavily outfitted cobra.
Having lots of fun being alert to find the best oportunities when they do arise

Have a cobra and not even 100k in credits. I've just go where I want and do missions and fuel scoop to cover fuel. I don't do grind. It may be why I have no cash, but I have not yet burned out, complained or whined about anything yet either!

I want to use an eagle as a bounty hunting ship. I just wish it had one more weapon slot. I'd gladly give up the 2T cargo and add 50k to the cost of the ship, for 1 more weapon slot...

I'm slow grinding :p

Just went from an Adder (which I loved) to a Cobra and I think I'll grind a but more to kit that out and then do some exploring and bounty hunting. Still loving everything I do.

To be honest it's reading these forums that depress me a bit. You can't help but compare your own progress to others. But I don't play as much as I would like (few hours per week), I don't do Rares...why is there no rares near me? Surely there needs to be a percentage chance of rares anywhere in inhabited space but it seems to be around Sol/Lave?. I'm just never going to make much money quickly. So after my Cobra thing I may just head back down the ships and not worry about getting blown out of the water. Just keep enough in the bank for a few rebuys!

A great positive thread started by someone who gets it. Basically do what you want to do. Aim to be the richest trader, the most feared pirate, the most successful miner or the great explorer, what ever floats your boat. But whatever it is you seek, enjoy the pursuit and if you don't, leave. If it seems like a chore then its about time you packed it in.

Have some rep op

I agree too. I did grind at the start, got up to a Cobra, but once I bought a new viper to try bounty hunting in I sold the cobra after a few days and haven't look back.
I'm more interested in moving up the rankings and having fun. If I get tired of bounty hunting again I might re buy a cobra and try and move up the explorer ranking.
