Weak spots [Target - Combat]

Greetings,
During the battle only with Cobras and Anacondas, I found that the weak point of their the second Drive, one near Power plant.
Quick damages them if I'm aim and fire to that place.

Or maybe this is exactly what I said or imagining.
Can someone confirm or denied this information?

It's probably because your trying to stay behind your target which puts the drives right in your line of fire.

My viper with bust turrets in the 1 slots, can constantly hit canopy and power plant on cobras, because of the turning circle. Anything faster I target the drives. However I've only once brought down the drive before the hull.

Plus when targeting the Drive you've got both bits of it to aim for. Handy for me - couldn't hit a barn door : D

How do you target the canopy? Haven't seen that as yet.
