Wealth Redistribution Ships?

In an anarchy system tonight that is going Bust, not sure if that means anything, but my sensors are now picking up points in the system on my nav computer that say "Seeking Goods" this is the first time I have seen this since launch.

I flew to the location and there were 3 heavy ships who all said "Wealth Redistribution" as their name, and said in comms they were the middle man and would buy my goods for a good price.

I couldn't figure out how to interact and even dropped some cargo to see if that would do anything and it didn't. So then I decided to attack it, and it didn't drop any cargo. I blew it up and moved on.

Any idea what these ships are? I searched google and nothing came up.

Thanks for your help guys!:eek:

I think they turned some new features on actually, I just had a USS with 9 ships in it, I've done a fairly hefty number of USS's now and haven't seen more than 6

I keep seeing "Technology Acquisitions Inc" ships, but even when I've had computer components, robotics, and stolen prototype tech on board i've not been able to figure out how the hell to trade with them.

i figured it was just (another) broken feature

I really wish I could figure out what they are for. I could buy a cargo scanner and take a look, but if anyone out there knows, let me know! Seriously this system is full of them.

I really need to go to bed. I'm in California. This game is my life now! Haha...

I will check in the daytime and see if anyone has results, and if not I will buy a cargo scanner and check it out. Thanks to those who already posted!

Fly close to that ships and Your cargo will dissapear while Your credits increase significant (even stolen stuff)

I saw something similar last night in the nav menu, it said "seeking luxuries". I wasn't carrying any so I ignored it but plan to investigate them soon

Tried that, didn't work. Right up close (like, scared was going to crash) and stayed alongside them a while.

I think it's something that definitely needs fixing, in the same way players comms are just totally broken.

use a cargo scanner to scan them, that will tell you what cargo they will pay for at a premium price I believe

then when you have that cargo on board just fly up to within 1km and they will buy it and take it from your hold using some sort of transport beam :)

There is a "cheat" to find out, what each T9 is looking for. It is called the:
Cargo Scanner!

All T9s have surplus cargo of the right kind in their cargo bay. Just scan them.

Or course, only the Seeking Luxuries T9 have fixed nav points, enabling you to get the right cargo. The others seem to appear at random USSs.

So far, I found (?=not yet scanned):
Magpie=?
Mineral Magpie=?
Technology Aquisitions=?
Ariel=tea (i think)
Seeking Luxuries=Performance Enhancers

Are you sure, that you had the correct cargo onboard?

I've seen "Seeking Goods" USS's in a system that is in LOCKDOWN. Apparently they are looking for Narcotics, but I haven't been able to verify that personally. Mineral Magpie always asks for "red crystals", and I'm sure I've seen it mentioned on here before that that means Rutile. The Wikipedia page seems to tally with that description.
.

I also second the observation that the "Seeking Luxuries" USS's appear in systems that are in BOOM.

What kind of prices do these guys pay? Is it worth trading with them instead of the usual commodity market in your experience?

fly up to target, have a cargo scanner fitted, if they have an item they ae looking for the item fly clsoe and a transaction occours

Usually these seeking goods sites will ahve 10-15 seperate in a system, just a matter of finding the right cargo ship

Tobacco. I kid ye not. "We've got what you need to forget your problems! Cigarettes!" The amount of nonsense I had to go through to find that out.

Now I have half a kilotonne of useless narcotics nobody'll buy and I have to refit my ship again to get rid of the cargo scanner because these monkeys decided to sit for days in the void of space in packs of three and just wait for some random in a spaceship doing nothing in particular to turn up out of boredom so they could not tell him what they're buying, but instead drop cryptic, nonsensical, misinformative hints between minutes of silence to make sure they waste as much time, money and patience as possible, with any luck throwing their supplier off completely, and after a week of that they'll be forced back home to their bubbling de-cored magma planet, famished and defeated, but satisfied in a job well done.

Tobacco isn't even prohibited here! "Wealth redistribution"?! Aaargh! *starts spewing froth and leaps out the window gurgling*

Edit: for the benefit of anyone wondering how profitable this is, I found tobacco selling for about 4360cr/t and sold it to the T9s, ending up with 1144cr/t profit.
