CQC Weapon Enhance

First off, I like CQC. I've only played Deathmatch, but it has all the qualities of PvP that I enjoy: fast pace, good skill progression, somewhat balanced loadouts (I have most unlocked, but I wish they were available to newer players sooner; the first 20 ranks are a breeze, and it would vary the playing field a bit more earlier on if all were available by then).

The only thing that stands out as unbalanced is the Weapon Enhance powerup. I'm probably about half way through the skill progression (which probably means I'm not half way), but it seems most matches revolve around who got the Weapon Enhance first and can control the respawn on it. I always know which matches I'm going to win if I spawn far from a Weapon Enhance but it's still there when I arrive: I'm playing with players that don't know the advantage of it.

I feel like the effect of it should be reduced; either the duration or the amount of additional damage, to make it a little less effective; a bump instead of a jump.

Anyone else feel this way, or am I still a n00b for feeling this way?

Well there are ways to counter it. You could just run away but it would be cool if we would know that someone uses a weapon buff, red sparks coming out of the ship maybe? It is always a deadly surprise going head-on-head with your opponent having the weapon buff.

Other than that:

- Chaff
- Cover
- Silent RUnning
- Distance
- Shield Cell

In every match, I know exactly who has it if I don't. I just hate that whoever grabs it first usually wins the match. Again, I might be almost an average pilot, and so maybe this is just a n00b gripe, but it's really the only thing I don't like about CQC; seriously, this is like record setting low for me as far as gripes go.

Yes, weapon power up is too OP, people with it could kill enemies easily, it should be banned.

Also All weapons should be banned, people kill enemies by them.

Finally CQC should be banned, it's full of violence.

Cheers for love and peace!

If you can not beat your enemy, then join them;

If you know weapon up is op, then grab it. AT ALL COST.

It's the place contested by all strategists.

....And that Sir, brings us to our next big ship reveal; The Hippy Bus. People will laugh until someone kills the hippy, and modifies the pulse lasers with the disco ball.. no one will be staying alive.

That's my point -- there's one powerup worth obtaining, and more often than not, the player that controls it wins. It's a small gripe; I was mainly curious if anyone else felt like it was a little too powerful. Doesn't seem so -- thanks for being all rational and stuff.

Then try to break their control.
I strike many players who usually control weapon up and finally win.

The most problem is people always grap the most valuable power up.
If you remove (or nerf) weapon up, stealth may be the best solution.
Would you want to nerf stealth too? And what's the next? Shield?

BTW, did you play LOL before?
Dragon and Baron Nashor are so important that every team want to control them.
Should they be nerfed too?

I think the other powerup are fine; they give the player a good bump. I was just curious if anyone else felt like the Weapon Enhance was a little too much. It seems to be in the realm of double -- how about 1.5? Do players think that would improve gameplay? The rumble at the start is entertaining -- sometimes it's fun to watch everyone turn on the player that did get it, or to ride the player going after it -- I just wonder if the rounds might benefit from a little more longevity; maybe that'd because we wait so long to get into a match. You disagree, clearly.

I think it's OK, except for one important thing:

There's no way to tell if someone has it until they start shooting you.

I think giving your ship a visible red glow or something would be enough to mitigate it's power. If you know someone has it, you can avoid / prioritize them.

The weapon powerup is overpowered. Last few games I actually saw players park inside the circle and just wait for the respawn. That aint tactics. That aint tactics at all.

Then why don't you shot him? It should be a very good target.

Yes, it's reaaly a good idea.

Bit OP because it's so powerful and long-lived. Should last in between how much it lasts for now and how much it used to last for.

I'm still kinda' new to CQC; I know right now it lasts until the next respawn. I always end up trying to get it before Rhetoric to keep him running the score up early, but he just kills me because he's much, much better than me.

I like this idea, too. It still is a little frustrating to get vaporized with four pips in shields before I can even evade, but at least if it had a down side (like making you a target) maybe that'd be better.

Get rid of all enhancements IMHO. Spotted a lot of these enhancements in open play have you?

"In space no one can enhance your game."

It is not too bad if you have other power-ups available. But that one arena where it is the only one...
