Ship Builds & Load Outs Weapon Loadout suggestions for the Courier

OK so i've actually had this ship for a while now but i feel like im struggling to make much impact into the larger hulls and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on weapon loadouts. so far i have been using 1 fixed C2 pulse and 2 fixed C2 multi-cannons but does anyone have any alternate suggestions other than the multi-cannons for chewing through hull?

also no, i don't have much trouble hitting stuff with the multi-cannons, actually hit stuff very consistently.
 
Hi CMDR. I ran that load out for a while. I then switched it up to 2 gimballed pulse and 1 multi cannon. I think I prefer it this way. Better pilots than me might say to put 2 fixed lasers on the ship. 1 in the middle and 1 on the wing - to take advantage of the superior power of fixed weapons using the couriers excellent manoeuvrability. But I tend to stick with gimballed. When the whole crafting mechanic is fully fleshed out I'm hoping I'll be able to find a way to get my Courier to pack a bigger punch. I really love the ship but tend to fly the Clipper these days.
 
funnily i enough i have a clipper myself but i am only using it for some trading atm until i can gather the capital to fully deck it out, also the rumors of large multi-cannons coming in the engineers update as well as some other large version of stuff i kinda wanted to wait a bit before using it in some bounty hunting. on that though using gimbaled is pretty much a necessity with the very large space between the weapons. but atm im looking for something i can just use on my courior for a bit more damage on the hull of ships once there shields are down.
 
if i go big-ship-hunting, i fit two pulses + 1 cannon - a cannon counts as a weapon one size larger in terms of size penalty, and is great to kill powerplants. the pulses help with that. more often i fit one bean, one mc and a canonn - good thing is, the beam pops a powerplant very fast, after the cannon shot it out. that is my regular bounty hunting weapon layout - best of three worlds :)

Middle Beam, two wings G Cannons. Easy hunting. I have tried all manner of builds and this is by far the most effective I have used for Courier.
 
I've never been able to top fixed laser (any kind) + gimbaled MCs for effectiveness and versatility. It's a loadout I'm willing to take into combat with any ship, PvP or PvE.
 
Cannons will do more damage than MCs, but you'll run out of ammo quicker. And they're harder to aim.
Frags will do more damage still, but you've gotta be on top of your target and ammo will continue to be an issue.

You could also replace the laser with a PA. Again, ammo. Fun though.

I totally agree with this. I use this load out for everything from RES to assassination missions. Also feel safe when performing bulletin board missions. At this time I'm running a gimbaled beam and 2 Mc's
 
The courier has a much harder time making an impact since HRPs came front and center to outfitting. With limited number of hard points, it's much harder for them to make an impact. I used to fit a beam laser under the nose and a pair of frags on the sides. Perfect for assassination missions.
 
I can't comment on PvP but for Res hunting I've been using 2 pulses and a PA, it's great!

I really love the PA I wish I could have 3 of them to make some sort of heavy bomber like in the Homeworld games! So much power drain though :-(
