Weapon Power Changes in v1.1

Prior to 1.1, the power balance on my ship was fine. I could deploy all of my weapons without problems.

Imagine my surprise when I loaded up 1.1, got interdicted, deployed weapons to deal with the problem and found myself without shields and life support.

What gives Frontier? How can you change something as fundamental as the power used by weapons from one version to the next? That is extremely uncool. I put a lot of thought into my load out specifically to work with the amount of power I have available.

Power management is an important part of the game.

Them lasers will boil your hull fast too!
 
On the subject of changes, what is up with the nerf to the chaff launcher? Before 1.1, I had 30 charges. Now I have 10. Also shield bank charges went down from 4 to 3.

I suppose that there is some sort of change log that I should have read?

Thanks Firebeard. I did put my FSD on a lower priority so that I can deploy everything else. After all, who needs to use an FSD with hard points deployed?

Unfortunately that did not take care of the issue. I had to completely disable my Cargo Hatch in order to make the power work. The bummer about that is that after every Hyperspace Jump, the Cargo Hatch flips back to enabled again.

yup in the patch notes for updates, or in many, many threads complaining :)

Thats why I switched from x4 beam to x4 burst and x2 med multi's on my Asp
 
It took me a while to spot the chaff change... I guess its to try and avoid the "spam two chaff launchers" way to be effectively immune to turrets.

The changes come from the balance pass on SCB's. Everything was described in the patch notes. When you have to down load an update, it is a good practice to review the patch notes.

You should be fine if you put non-combat related modules on a lower priority in the Modules section of the right hand info panel. Switch your cargo hatch, FSD, ect. to a lower priority. These modules will shut down, when you deploy, saving power for your combat necessary modules.
