Weapons naming performed by Powerball machine

You have been awarded a type 2 class C rank XL11 subclass dakka dakka laser.......?

Listen, I am all about obfuscating some numbers in the spirit of simplicity and not letting everything become a min/max exercise but seriously? Who knows what anything does?

There is no tool to allow me to figure out that if a weapon does about 10% more damage, I'd have to spend twice as much on it....until there is....good game for turning weapon names into riddles.

I agree. After all, when you buy a dishwasher you know how many kw/h it will be using, or what is the nominal water usage or whatever. Equipment needs a few more numbers.

You can compare weapon stats in the Outfitting menu including power usage, thermal load, damage, damage per second, weight etc. What is the problem exactly?

The damage is in pips, not numbers. I don't trust the pips :(
We have RoF in shots/second. Could we have Damage per Shot (vs Shield and vs Armour) as well?
On the other end of the beam, the resistance of shields and armour seems to vary according to number of pips in SYS and armour type respectively. Could we have the resistance stats per module?
Then we could compare the "raw" damage number from the weapons with the resistance stats on the defensive modules and really understand how many shots we'll need on target to achieve damage/kills. This sort of calculation really affects the tactics that you'll want to use against various targets.
It's all a bit handwavey at the moment.

I think weapons is kind of ok since you can compare them in the outfitting menu with some meaningful data ( and hopefully the damage bar for all weapons are in the same scale... hopefully )

Try buying internal parts like shield generator... the problem starts to emerge. You have no way to quantitatively know how exactly one shield is better than another except that vague classing. And the funny thing of integrity which seems sometimes showing an increase of quality from A to A ( the blue up arrow ) which is basically telling you nothing...

If it costs more than the slot I've currently got, I think it's better? ish? And yeah, integrity/health, is that a Hitpoint like stat for it, and if so, rough numbers? Is it like, a % increase, or a +value? So much hidden away for now, and whilst I get not wanting the game to be a numbers min/maxing exercise (hello Excel spreadsheet perma opened!), a bit more showable values in the gear wouldn't go amiss.
