Weapons that strip a HULL through SHIELDS? no thanks!

Just had a Python kill mine in seconds from 5km away with my full SHIELDS intact!
I know because I use target nearest hostile. Whatever weapon this is REMOVE IT!
Is it TARGET CANOPY? So beams now kill from over 5km???

Sounds like a glitch to me.

I have a fancy modded pulse that can damage through shields. But it's not good enough to actually kill a target while it's shields are still up.
It's actually a pretty poor mod I've been meaning to remove. Lol

Targeting the nearest hostile means the nearest hostile on sensors. If they are using silent running and are not on sensors, you won't see them.

Video is your friend in these situations. Get Shadowplay which lets you grab the last 20 min for review.

Sweet salt, still as others have said earlier it might be a bug but without a video then there's not much to work with

Beams dont have phasing sequence so that doesn't sound like a plausible scenario, even though they do have long range mods.

Long range pulse with phasing, sure.

New long range without falloff and phasing sequence.

It's not like noone saw it coming and pointed it out during beta .
.
But it was only one thread where the problem was discussed, while there were so many threads of people who never played the beta who had to "give feedback" on the shield booster changes... you really can't expect anybody to still note the one thread.
.

That sait, the "in seconds" makes this more sound like a bug or rethorics. We'd need a video or at least Information of which ship supposedly was killed this way in so very short time. Because while damage bleeds through shield with phasing sequence, it still was not an "instant kill" thing in the beta. (It only did hull damage, no module damage or anything like that. )
.
Of course, phasing sequence was still changed between beta and life without any testing, but i still doubt that it has become that deadly, as the change was supposed to be a reduction in power.
.

Heat damage?
Ship integrity at 0%?
Power Plant failure?

Have to side with the "need a video" here to have any hope at a guess as to what happened.

That said, I have taken out many an enemy ship that was inside a shield bubble - though this has almost always been due to their shields coming back online while their hulls were depleted.
A case of too-little, too-late.

I'm a casual player but this has put me off CZs all over again. It does not follow how we play. Not bothered about loss of credits but I'm not into walking into constant traps like these. Another area of ED that fails. No doubt you'll all come across this and wonder why it can happen.

CZs? The NPCs shouldnt have access to phasing sequence so it seems like a bug.

Ask for a reimbusement from support.

Unless they fixed Imperial capital ships and their lasers no longer tickle and you got blasted from one.

This weapon has ruined the game. Seriously.

Christ, how about supplying some more detail before you jump out the window? What you're describing does not exist in the game as far as I know. Somebody could be nailing you with multiple Phasing Sequence for better than a full minuter before you'd pop, and you'd have plenty of time to react.

What you are describing (poorly) sounds. Like. A. Bug.

How complicated would storing the last min of data in a BLACK BOX for FD to know what happens in these cases? Who designed the game not to include such valuable functions?
