So, has any weather effects been mentioned before? It would be quite interesting to see what comes about.
unconfirmed memory of someone saying that they're going to try to put weather into the game by release but it's likely going to come after.
i also have unconfirmed memory of a dev talking about how weather will affect scenario mode
I understand that it can be difficult to implement this into the game, but it would be amazing if It could work. A nice storm or something, I know I'm going to get grief for saying this but the weather on RCT, the rain and thunder storms would be incredible.
And not urine puddles either! [haha][haha]It'll be nice to see puddles actually form.
I dont think that would be an issue, i'm sure they can use a similar effect that you see in games such as Cities Skylines. Things just 'look' wet and you get the rain effect in the sky but theres no actual water physics going on, water running off roofs etc.I guess when it happens depends on how seriously they take it. Adding a last minute set of weather effects should be pretty straight forward. But as Vampiro says, it could also be worked in as a gameplay mechanic. That would be great, as it would be a genuinely new addition to the simulation. Tricky though, they would have to get all scenery to provide shelter from rain as in this game the roof could be formed from any combination of scenery. I imagine the physics required to get rain to run across all types of surface might be an FPS killer.

Would certainly be interesting to see if this could tie in with making covered eating areas and sheltered rides busyer than open ones.
But how would that acheive Vampiros idea (that I replied to) by making dry areas over queue lines?
As I said, sheltered rides should do better. I'm sure it's relatively easy if they are going to code in weather to put roofing as part of the algorithm and make it work better if roofing is used.
