Wedding Murder - do I feel bad? Not much

Supercruise is getting more interesting. I came across one of those previously interminable wedding barges, but the main barge had a 58,000 bounty on it. There was a sidewinder wingman. Pulled them out of supercruise.

What fool would hire a bargemaster with such a price on his head? And on such an important day?

Well it won't happen to that happy-couple or their extended family again, I can assure you.

Mad game sometimes - love it when it's mad.

I was looking for rare goods (e.g. bouquets; fragments of wedding cake) amid the wreckage, no such luck I'm afraid.

Yup there are some interesting USS's then there are some completely pointless ones like Mr 'Im looking for Tech'

A ship as big and expensive as the Orca which is geared toward passenger-carry should have escape pods; hopefully they'll add that feature to the game someday and you can see people ejecting during a dogfight. And then you should be able to cargo scan the pods and see if they're trying to escape with the goods.

Well, at least you can say they went out with a bang.
:)

I like it when things are mixed up a bit to keep things fresh too.

You'd think some Pirates might occasionally have a go that "looking for tech" guy...and still waiting for a Mafia style Funeral.

I heard you can trade with the "looking for tech" guy.
I can't remember where I heard it or how you do it.
But I heard it.
I think you have to fly real close with stolen tech. Then something happens.
Don't hold me to it though.

Yep, but this was not in a USS! - it was pulled out of supercruise - the game is getting better..

I heard that, and everybody killed them too (or wanted to.) :) This barge, I stress, was in supercruise, not in a USS. I had to interdict it.

If I remember correctly, in the original Elite you could cargo scoop escape capsules and then sell them on as slaves... o_O

Are you sure you got them before wedding party? Maybe he was clean when hired...

Yep, possibly some peer of the House of Lords, got his bounty during the trip by wearing the bridesmaids' bras and snorting..

(all in the public domain mods - no panic :) )

Now, sir, surely this would be taking the wedding day unpleasantries too far.. :)

(seriously tho., I saw some slave cannisters in a Nav Beacon the other day.)

Those times when you try and scoop those poor *people* up and destroy the canisters.

I remember there being missions for (killing attendees), haven't seen one in a long time, guess they were removed.

I neglected to add: the sidewinder wingman was clean. But having watched my amazingly high powered 'disco-light' laser display, with realistic explosive effects, he decided to attack me (no doubt under some old-fashioned sense of decency.)

Naturally, I scanned him first (to check he was indeed Wanted, for having wantonly attacked me) and then I bagged him - he was probably the vicar on his way to officiate - I was rewarded a whopping 150 credits!

In all, it was a very fine day for all, er, one involved. And of course when I went to claim my 58k + 0.150k, the local police waved me by politely - 'no crimes recorded.'

Escape pods=pre-packaged slave containers.

Didn't that used to be an option in the original game, scoop an escape pod and sell them as slaves?

Ah, my mistake, I read the earlier to mean cannisters. I do seem to recall that - silly, and cruel - but mad - and maybe that's what made the game.. (and made us all laugh.)
